Interiors and a sculpture

I was flicking through the interior design magazines and really liked the following photos. Explaination at the bottom of each photo:

I just love this cover. The world of Interiors is a fabulous magazine. It is full of fantastic photos and their covers are usually very striking. I love this photo because I love the antique and yet very airy feel about this room. Love the book cases. It could be a funky office reception area? What do you think?

This stunning sculpture is made by Jamie Beardsall and costs a whooping £15k. The idea is as if looking for all the world as it were running a jump into the lake.

The bronze roe deer is set in in 'motion' by addition of fountain or water jet set into the lake, designed to burst under it's feet. The result is fantastic. I really love this idea and I think it looks amazing.

The back of the chairs are towards the fire place ...but I think this room looks fantastic and so colourful and warm.

This is taken from the same house and I really like the owner's taste.

This final photo is also from the same house as the other 2 photos above. The owner has tried to bring things from around the world (Africa to Asia) and the result isn't very chaotic but very unique. This is a loo ...interesting...don't you think? :)

I really like this photo shoot with Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro. It has a very South American feel to it and you can almost feel the amazonian environment or perhaps it is just me? anyway check out couple f photos below...

Daniel Craig wears too many clothes

He was a little too buff in Casino Royal but generally speaking I think Daniel Craig wears too many clothes...BUT as long as he dresses well (see photos) I am OK with it!

BUT some people should definitely KEEP their clothes on ... e.g. Russell Brand....
some may find it sexy others not so much...

Tuition fees from hell!

There is a lot in the press about the proposed increase in university tuition fees. Well, there was a cap on tuition fees but now they have decided that that cap should be lifted and as a result universities can pretty much charge whatever they want for their courses. Now, many students will come out of university with more than £30k in debt. Government says that they won't have to pay until they start earning £21k.

Well naturally, I have an opinion on this. I think it's a bad idea. Some universities, e.g. top schools like Oxford and Cambridge, may end up charging an arm and a leg in tuition fees and they will know that they will get away with it because there will always be a demand to study there. So if one student cannot afford it, then another will be able to. Could this mean students with a wealthy background will go to these universities? Could some of the brightest students miss out on an opportunity to study there? Could the rise in tuition fee discourage many students from going to university altogether?

I personally think it's a shame and I feel sorry for the future students who will come out of university with huge debts. Debts should be the least of their worries. They should be focusing on finishing their degrees and finding the jobs. In this market, I wouldn't be surprised if the potential debt discourages many from attending universities. The debt will incur interest too you know?!

I remember I once had a chat with a young electrician. He saw me reading one of my law books (fun stuff!) and wanted to know about the course and the conversation ended up with him admitting that he really wanted to go to university after finishing school but the fear of getting into debt stopped him. He was making money now and after our conversation he said he would think about going to university part time. I never saw him again but I really do hope that he will follow his dreams and hope many others will too.

What do you think? does this new change in university fee mean Britain could lose out in the long term because some of the brightest may go elsewhere?

Bat to the Bond?

License to kill forever?

I am getting really impatient with the Bond makers! Daniel Craig is not getting younger! They need to get their arses in gear and do something about Bond 23!

I understand the studios behind the franchise is having financial troubles but come on! someone please quickly buy the rights and make another Bond film with the gorgeous Daniel Craig!

Bond 23?
Anyway, in one of the August issues of Entertainment Weekly, their cover story wondered if 'Bond is dead?'. I don't want Bond to die...he cannot die! OK? no room for discussion here! Hmm but if the studio takes longer to find a buyer for Bond, then I am sure Daniel Craig won't wait forever. In this heart breaking scenario, I wondered who could take his place? It will have to be someone very hot! I think the only guy I can think of, who is in the Bond category, is the gorgeous Christian Bale! What do you think? is he hot enough?
Batman to the rescue?

Will he answer the call for Bond?

The future Bond?
too psycho or too hot?

Patek Philippe, Geneva

I have always liked Patek Philippe's ad campaigns. Check out some of my favourites below. A watch from Patek Philippe will cost you an arm and leg though but like the company says:
"You don't own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation"
